ABOUT US
Turn That Frown Upside Down.
Vision|The Future We Envision
Leaving No One Behind
We will create a future where everyone—from children to the elderly—can maintain their oral health without strain.
Mission|
Through “Oral Care Through Eating,”
we provide gentle oral care for both those who find brushing difficult and the people who support them.
Enjoying delicious meals helps maintain a healthy oral environment.
We deliver this new approach to care.
Philosophy|
“Don’t Fight Bacteria—Coexist with Them”
Rather than eliminating oral bacteria,
we’ll use science to change how we interact with them.
Values|Our Five Core Principles
1. Stay True to Science
Based on research and patented technologies from Kagoshima University,
we deliver only evidence-based solutions.
2. Put Those in Need First
Whether it’s the person who struggles with brushing or the family members who support them—
everything begins with the voices from the field.
3. Prioritizing Sustainability
No matter how good a care regimen is, it’s meaningless if it isn’t sustained.
We pursue “sustainability.”
4. Questioning Conventional Wisdom and Combining Perspectives
Dentistry, bacteriology, and behavioral science—
we join forces across disciplines to create new solutions.
5. From Kagoshima to the World
We connect technology born in our region
to the health of people around the globe.
SERVICE
“Eat to Maintain”
A New Approach to Oral Care
Through Diet
Desserts That Keep Your Mouth Healthy
Planning, Development, and Sales of “Toothbrush Sweets”
These sweets are based on a new concept called “oral care through eating.” They were created with the goal of solving the daily challenges faced by babies, the elderly, people with disabilities—for whom brushing teeth is difficult—as well as children who dislike brushing and their parents.
Controls plaque without reducing bacteria
Rather than trying to reduce the bacteria naturally present in the mouth, these sweets are designed to prevent plaque formation while coexisting with those bacteria.
Harnessing the “Amazing” Power of Saliva
▶ Saliva’s remineralizing effect
▶ pH buffering effect
▶ Self-cleaning effect, etc.Add “Toothpaste-Flavored Dessert Mix” to any food
“Altemix” (Toothpaste-Flavored Dessert Mix)
In addition to our own products, we supply “Toothpaste Sweets Mix” to food manufacturers and restaurant chains. This is a proprietary blend of ingredients developed by our company that helps inhibit plaque formation caused by specific bacteria.
Adjustable sweetness levels, from mildly sweet to very sweet
Depending on your creativity, it can be added to a wide variety of processed foods—from a subtle hint of sweetness to the primary sweetening agent.
Comprehensive support from implementation to sales
We provide a complete package of services, ranging from advice on ingredient ratios to marketing support backed by scientific evidence.Using the Power of Science to Make Oral Care “Fun”

From “Brushing Teeth as a Chore” to “A Daily Pleasure”
Creating a society where everyone can naturally maintain their health through the power of food.
Every day, we brush our teeth after eating.
This habit has been practiced for thousands of years.
Even so, oral health problems—such as cavities, gum disease, and aspiration pneumonia (pneumonia caused by food or saliva accidentally entering the windpipe)—have not disappeared.
As our research continued, we came to realize
just how difficult “brushing with a toothbrush” actually is.
Bacteria in the mouth are only about 1 μm in size (one-thousandth of a millimeter).
In contrast, the tips of toothbrush bristles are about 0.2 mm thick—roughly 200 times thicker than the bacteria.
Even when brushing carefully, it is not easy to completely remove the “biofilm” produced by bacteria
from the tiny crevices.
This is especially true for young children, the elderly, and people with disabilities—
for those who find brushing difficult, daily oral care is a significant burden.
The same is true for their supporting families and caregivers.
So we asked ourselves:
“If a brush can’t reach, can’t we use the power of chemistry to prevent biofilm?”
Alteonus Co., Ltd. was born from this question.
Our work is based on research findings and patented technologies from Kagoshima University.
We combined these with dental medicine, bacteriology,
and behavioral science—which focuses on devising ways to “maintain routines effortlessly.”
This led to the development of “Edible Oral Care.”
“Edible Oral Care” is a method of maintaining oral health “while enjoying delicious food.”
Rather than forcibly reducing the bacteria naturally present in the mouth, we use science to prevent the formation of biofilm.
We’ve created a system that allows anyone to maintain their health naturally while coexisting with bacteria.
From children to the elderly, we leave no one behind.
Aiming for a future where “prevention” is the norm,
from Kagoshima to the world,
we will deliver a new approach to healthcare.
